Does a bot join the meeting?

The current Mac pilot captures audio from your selected application with system permission. It does not add a bot participant. You control when capture starts and stops; let the other participants know when you use it.

Can Lapel identify speakers in Google Meet?

Named-speaker support is being explored. The current pilot receives mixed remote audio and leaves participant identity unknown. A planned optional Meet helper may use speaker-labelled captions; it has not been validated in real calls yet.

Where does meeting content go?

Speech and context processing run on the Mac. The live transcript stays in memory unless you explicitly save a reviewed recap or export a file. History is off by default. The retained transcript is bounded, so earlier parts of a long meeting may be absent. Billing is separate.

How reliable are the local models?

The portable models are experimental. The included speech model supports English and transcribes in short chunks. Summaries can misunderstand speech; review the supporting transcript before relying on an important statement. Stopping or pausing cancels unfinished chunks.

Is it hidden while I share my screen?

Share a specific meeting or document window and check your sharing preview. Full-screen sharing can show the Lapel window.
